Dogs Rosters Birds Bugs and Bats

I remember on my first day out in the ministry here I saw for the first time a humming bird, very small is this bird which amazingly beats its wings some varieties beat there wings 8 to 10 times a second while others around 80 times a second. Some even have a top speed of 114 kilometres an hour. I haven't been quick enough to get a photograph as yet.

One night we had a Bat fly into the house which provided some excitement, I wasn't able to get a photo of that either.

It would seem nearly every household has at least one dog and a roster on patrol however there is usually three dogs and countless hens with chicks wandering about.DSC06553

Im not sure what this flying creature is called but it resembles a wasp and to put things into perspective it is about as big as your little toe, for a wasp that is pretty big! This photo was taken after it was released. We caught it in the kitchen and then set it free.DSC06543
