Graduation

It has been three years of hard work, determination, stress and sacrifice culminating today with my mothers graduation in Bachelor of nursing. A rough and intense three years

Nurses definitely work very hard in the community, who hasn't had the need to benefit from the necessary work of these individuals. But I think there is another role not often acclaimed but a very essential one. The role of being a mother. They work tirelessly and give so much in so many ways and this long before we are even born! And then long after our first breath they continue to give, nurture, encourage and love us helping us to grow. Thank you mum for your past and present support.

One thing that was encouraged at the graduation was to give back to the community. In this regard it was nice to see someone from the community be given an award not for any academic achievement but for his achievement in starting up a Native Bird Recovery Centre which has become his life's devotion, he was made an Honorary Associate and has in the past received a Queens Service Medal for public service. It is good to see someone voluntarily giving to the community be recognized for his work.

In the matter of giving to the community, I count it a privilege to know of so many who have and still do sacrifice there time and assets to help others. Many of there use there limited available time, and others even arranging to volunteer fulltime. I can think of many who have sold houses, turned down economic opportunities, and made radical lifestyle changes to give to the community especially in the field of bible education. While many are not recognized an an official capacity the work has not been in vain. As any educator would no doubt agree to have a share in the imparting of knowledge and changing someone's life for the betterment of the student and his or her community, that is something of which to be truly proud. I'm sure this is just one of the things that contribute to there happiness.

Too everyone out there giving out of there want……keep up the good work, it is not unnoticed  nor will it go unrewarded.
